G28 runs the Machining Summit and this app. We collect what we need to run your week and connect you with the right people, and nothing to sell. Questions or requests: al@g28.io.
What we collect, and why
- When you register: your name, email, pass, the sessions and activities you pick, your travel plans, any discount or partner code, and your waiver signature (the name you type, the date and the waiver version). We use it to run your week, seat sessions, plan shuttles and meals, and send you your private link.
- Payments: cards go through Stripe's secure page. We see that you paid, never your card number.
- Messages: we email, text or send app alerts about the Summit. Texts only if you give us your mobile and tick the box (reply STOP to any text to end them); every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
- Talking with us: when you email, text or message G28, we may note that we spoke and what's next, so we follow up properly. Those notes stay inside G28.
- Photos at the event: our photographers capture the Summit, and we may use photos to show what it's like. You're named in a photo only if you tag yourself or ask us to. We never use face recognition. Ask and we'll take a photo down.
- Browsing the register page: we count how often each session is opened or picked, with no name, cookie or device id attached, so we know which rooms to make bigger. If you allow it, this browser also remembers which sessions you looked at, and that summary goes with your registration to help plan your week. If you leave without registering, it never leaves your device.
Your choice for this device
Cookies and device storage
One cookie keeps you signed in, and one remembers light or dark mode. Your browser also keeps your half-finished registration and, only if you allow it, the sessions you looked at. No advertising or analytics trackers.
Who sees it
We don't sell your information, and we don't give partners your contact details unless you choose to connect with them. Companies that run parts of the app for us handle it under contract: Supabase (database), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), OneSignal (email, text and alerts), Stream (in-app chat) and Google Workspace (our email). Venues and shuttle operators get headcounts, and names only where they need them.
How long, and your rights
We keep your registration to run this event and to invite you to future ones. You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to stop hearing from us, at al@g28.io. If you live in California or elsewhere with privacy laws, those rights are yours by law too, and we never sell or share your information for advertising.
